I just bought the Wii and I love it. I am wondering what kind of wireless connection you need to have. I currently have a cable mode and I am looking to purchase a wireless conncection. Do I need a router or just a connection that plugs into a usb port?

yo cando 2 things
1. Wait till you wirlessconection comes and conect your wii.
2. Go to the site in my sig and complete some surveys (most easy) after you completed enough suveys you can et a nintendo wifi usb connector for free. (The prize is $30) (You will probably get it for free in a week if you do the free offers but if you do the credit card offers, also free, you will get it in a day)
Pm me if you have any questions
I can show you proof.
or you could use a netgear hack software to hack into other houses WEP keys.....
yeah but that will be harder and the connection mzayl be slow
I Got Wireless Internet Free
Umm I wouldnt suggest tapping into WEP security. Im not sure if that is even possible on the Wii. If you get caught doing that, I think you would be in serious trouble. What I did was just turn my wii on, and I had plenty of connections. I looked for the one that had the strongest signal and the 'unlock' symbol by it. I guess you could say I'm pretty much 'borrowing' someone's signal. LoL. Ummm yeah! A firewall should have been used. Im just taking advantage of someone else's mistake....
I know here in the city we have free Wifi. I know my brother uses a Dunkin Donuts for his wifi, they have it free.
Have you tried to get connected yet. A lot of people have not been buying routers. Usually a neighbor has theirs unlocked and it will work for you. Try getting online first before buying. If they shut you down (which they probably would not know anyway) you can go get one. Netgear G. It will say on the box. (good for games) The best Buy people are pretty up on which routers work well with Wii.
I bought a Nintendo Wi-fi USB connector for my DS but you can also hook up the Wii through it.
The internet is great since we have two people here but only one computer.
